EMERGENCY EXIT at the Eighth Sea Star Festival

EMERGENCY EXIT, the powerful music-environmental performance that last year opened EXIT Festival’s 25th anniversary celebration and was later presented at Portugal’s renowned Boom Festival, is coming to the eighth Sea Star Festival this May. The very first artist announcement already signals one of the festival’s most memorable editions yet, as the Stella Maris lagoon prepares to host this unique spectacle alongside leading global and regional acts.

The central figure of EMERGENCY EXIT is the highly acclaimed electronic producer Satori, and the performance is a collaboration between EXIT, Boom Festival, and the famed collective La Fura dels Baus, known for creating performance spectacles worldwide, including at the Olympic Games opening ceremony. Enhanced by the striking visuals of Eyesberg, the performance merges sound, movement, imagery, and raw human energy, breaking the fourth wall and engaging directly with the audience.

Returning for its eighth edition, Sea Star Festival will take place from 28–31 May 2026 at the stunning Stella Maris lagoon in Umag, once again opening the festival season. In a time of evident climate change and its growing impact on both humanity and the planet, EMERGENCY EXIT delivers a clear and urgent message of ecological awareness: “Peace on Earth, peace with Earth.”

Performance is co-produced by EXIT Foundation and La Fura dels Baus, partnering with Boom Festival, Buro Nuvo (ex Green Events), and Sea Star Festival. The project is supported by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.

Emergency EXIT

Emergency EXIT is an ambitious and unique international cooperation project that brings together leading cultural organisations, festivals, and sustainability experts to champion environmental responsibility through the power of the arts.

Led by EXIT Foundation (Serbia), in partnership with La Fura dels Baus (Spain), Green Events (Netherlands), Sea Star Festival (Croatia), and Boom Festival (Portugal), the project unites diverse creative forces in a joint mission to inspire action for the planet. Supported by the Creative Europe programme, Emergency EXIT blends artistic innovation with environmental advocacy to explore how festivals and large-scale cultural events can lead the transition toward more sustainable practices.

Through co-created performances, workshops, and public engagement, the project fosters collaboration between artists, producers, and audiences. At its heart lies a shared message—“Peace on Earth, Peace with Earth”—delivered not only through art, but through real change in how events are designed, produced, and experienced.

Emergency EXIT will develop and tour a unique interdisciplinary production across key European festivals, while also promoting the Manifesto for the Salvation of the Planet, an evolving pledge inviting all cultural actors to commit to sustainability. At the same time, the project will be presented at forums such as ADE Green, amplifying its impact across the creative industries.

More than a project, Emergency EXIT is a platform for cooperation, exchange, and transformation — inviting all artists and festivals on this planet, and each of you, wherever you are, to join this mission for a more conscious future!
